This units are designed to run on sites with low head conditions. The water will be lead into an intake canal. After passing the turbine, the water will diverted trough a conical draft tube into the lower water basign and back to the river. The direct coupled, permanent magnet generator produce 3-phase AC current. This current can be eighter used for grid connection via AC/DC coupling or to charge a battery bank of an isle grid system.

The ID* design improves the original PowerPal unit to a product, especially for the european market:

  • Improvement of hydraulic turbine parts
  • Balancing all rotation parts
  • Update of turbine bearings to original SKF Explorer type bearings with better fuctionaltiy and live span
  • Improvement of water lubricant system for the lower turbine bearing
  • Adding a new permanent magnet synchronious generator system for grid connection or battery charging

For sites with more than 2,1m head, a cascade installation of two or more turbine units can be realized. For sites with variable water discharge, our brand new Upgrade AV is now availabe for the 500´s turbines!
